Core Concept:<\/strong>\u00a0Open Educational Resources (OER) are the application of Open Science principles to the classroom and the textbook. This element is given a central position on the central display, with its own large module and dedicated “OER” sign. OER are learning materials-textbooks, course curricula, syllabi, lecture notes, and even interactive simulations that are licensed to be freely shared and, most importantly,\u00a0remixed<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Detailed Explanation:<\/strong>\u00a0Unlike the current student portal, which is just a single access point, OER are\u00a0dynamic<\/em>. Our roadmap identifies their core function: OER provide\u00a0a set of customizable, modular digital resources and interactive simulations<\/strong>\u00a0via mooc.upsi.edu.my<\/p>\n

This requires two main shifts from traditional educational publishing:<\/p>\n

    1. Open Licenses:<\/strong>\u00a0OER often use Creative Commons licenses, allowing the\u00a05R Rights<\/strong>: Retain, Reuse, Revise, Remix, and Redistribute.<\/li>\n

          Implementation at UPSI (as per Agenda):<\/strong>\u00a0While not the primary focus of the initial\u00a0Research Data Management<\/em>\u00a0push, OER is explicitly identified as an essential pillar of the UPSI OS strategy. The 2025\/2026 timeline prioritizes the\u00a0infrastructure and governance<\/em>\u00a0(the RDM platform and policies). Once the data repository and publishing workflow (the sWADAH Stream system) is established for research (OA\/Open Data), it will be expanded to host and manage UPSI’s OER library.
